1952

You will never guess where this is. I will reveal all later.

It belongs to a friend of mine who is the wee girl at right of the door.

yes Peter, No3 Ballymurphy Parade 1952

my uncle lived in Ballymurphy had his flag out every year and was one of the last protestants to leave...

Ballymurphy was always half and half New Barnsley was always Protestant

Ballymurphy was mixed at one time James  my aunt lived in it

I think it's ballymurphy I lived at 33 Divismore Cresent, left there age 9 moved 2 number 2 newbarnsley Drive left there age 16
our family lived at number 9 New Barnsley Drive. Our family name is Brown. Next door to us at number 7 were the Robinsons, they were a big family. The Boyds Dalzells and Browns as well as ourselves all moved to Bangor during the troubles.

Hold on a minute. 1952 ? So then these houses were built when the Unionist party at Stormont was in charge of things. From what I can gather the Unionist government tried to have mixed religion housing estates. The same was tried at Unity Flats hence the name but again it became a Catholic enclave.
