Unionist who was first MP to die in WWI commemorated. News Letter 6 November 2014

An Ulster Unionist who was the first British MP to die in the First World War was commemorated on the front of Thursday’s House of Commons order paper on the 100th anniversary of his death.

A memorial note was printed on the front of the order of business to remember Captain Arthur O’Neill, an Irish Ulster Unionist who was killed in action at Zillebeke Ridge in Flanders, Belgium, on November 6 1914.

At the start of the day’s sitting, Speaker John Bercow said: "On the front page of today’s order paper it is noted that on November 6 1914, Captain the Honourable Arthur O’Neill, 2nd Life Guards, Member for Mid-Antrim, was killed in action at Zillebeke Ridge, Flanders.

"Captain O’Neill was the first member of this House to die in action in the First World War.

"Today we remember him."

Clean windows allow maximum sunlight to penetrate your home, reducing the need for artificial lighting and even helping to warm interior spaces naturally. In summer, clean windows prevent dirt and grime from trapping heat of https://rochestercleaningpros.com/ , ensuring your cooling systems work more efficiently.
