On a personal note I hate high-rise flats, looking to attract young professionals to the area will be a travesty in my opinion. I hate talking about class in loyalism, some of the best loyalists I know could be described as middle class, however let's be blunt, how many of these young professionals will care about loyalism, will want to fly a flag, will want the curbs red, white and blue, will want to hear lambegs playing and band parades taking part outside their homes etc, things which may bring down the value of their property, very few in my opinion, most young professionals are your liberal snotty nosed types. Sandy row is what it is and that's a loyalist area steeped in history and should remain as such, we as loyalists must do everything in our power to maintain it as what it is and that's one of our areas, places like sandy row aren't nothing to be ashamed about, there something to be proud off. Social housing for Protestant families is what is needed, keep the community spirit, certainly not break it and make it into yet another lifeless mixed area. Sandy Row is one of the very few real inner city loyalist areas left, we cannot let it be changed the same way the Lisburn Road has went, I can remember 10 years ago, there was still a fair bit of loyalism about it, plenty a houses the whole way up it had the flags out and some streets the bunting, over time it's gradually changed due to the students, foreigners and these trendy young professionals, surely loyalists in South Belfast can finely turn round and say enough is enough
