2000 attend RIR parade protest in Belfast
Protesters outside Belfast City Hall Around 2000 people have gathered for an illegal demonstration in Belfast City Centre.

The protest at the City Hall is against decisions not to hold an RIR homecoming parade in Belfast.

A number of city councillors are expected shortly to deliver speeches at the gathering, which started at around 1300 BST.

It is expected to go on until 1430 BST. Royal Avenue and Donegall Place are closed off to traffic.

The police are in attendance, but are some distance away.

Was a good rally, speakers all spoke very well. Good sized crowd from the East and Shankill all in all, good to see loyalists out on force on the streets of our City.

Yes good to see the loyal people in the city centre and rightly so. It was for a good cause they were there.

Ulster Protestants consider themselves to be a separate nation. This nation they call Ulster
