Enniskillen IRA bomb victim says victims have been snubbed by G8

NL June 17  2013
A man whose father was murdered in the 1987 Poppy Day Bombing in Enniskillen says that G8 leaders have declined to meet them or acknowledge their plight. Nobody has ever been charged in relation to the IRA bomb which claimed 12 lives only two miles from where the G8 leaders will meet this week. Yesterday one of the victims of the bomb said he felt they had been 'snubbed'.

''We have been told though the NIO that the G8 leaders will not be accepting an invitation to meet with Enniskillen IRA bomb victims.'' said Stephen Gault whose father was killed in the bombing.

''During the past year the Queen and Taoiseach took time out to meet us. As Boston has recently suffered a terrorist attack we thought that President Obama would have requested a meet and greet.''

He added ''The irony is that the G8 leaders are meeting our Deputy First Minister, a convicted terrorist - but they are not willing to meet with victims.''

FUNDING FOR EXTREMIST PLATFORMS

I onder do members of trade unions such s UNISON and NIPSA,who were at the fore-front of Saturday's anti G8 demo in Belfast, agree with their subscriptions being used to give a platform to far-left extremists.

On display at the demonstration were a plethora of some very unsavoury banners indeed.

We had of course Palestinian flags and anti-Israel placards 'de rigeur' at any gathering of the far-left.

However, what was more sinister were banners and flags representing Irish republican Marxist groups such as Eirigi and the 32 County Sovereignty Movement, who do not oppose terrorist violence as a means of achieving their goals. There were also large numbers of Soviet 'Hammer and Sickle' flags amongst the crowd.

Are the bearers of these Soviet flags oblivious to the fact that they represent an evil ideology which has been responsible for the death of possibly more than 100 million people world-wide since 1917.  S Moore

Ulster Protestants consider themselves to be a separate nation. This nation they call Ulster

Again some good letters there. Well done to those who are prepared to spend some of their time in writing these letters to the press to highlight the real facts rather than the glossed over rhetoric we get from the media.
