NL June 20 2013

Police and political leaders have called for calm after a petrol bomb attack on a Protestant enclave in east Belfast. The petrol bomb was thrown into Cluan Place - 23 unionist households surrounded by a peace barrier in a nationalist area - just before 8pm on Sunday.

UUP MLA Michael Copeland; said 'Police are dealing with this as fairly as they can. But I have difficulty with the fact that at the start, the PSNI were describing the first petrol bomb as non-sectarian when it was thrown from Short Strand into Cluan Place.

The first petrol bomb landed in the garden of Kerry Irvine, who lives in Cluan Place. She said missiles are thrown into her garden ''every other day''

RESIDENT'S PEACELINE WARNING

NL Friday,June 21,2013.

MULTIPLE PETROL BOMBS THROWN AT FAMILY HOME

The plan to eradicate peace lines has been attacked by one householder after a number of petrol bombs were flung at his home in a single night.

The attack happened at about 11pm on Wednesday at a house in the Suffolk area of Belfast. Two young children were inside at the time, one of whom is just four weeks old. It is not the first time the house has been pelted with missiles, said the occupants, but the use of petrol bombs carries a real danger.

It stands on the Protestant side of a roughly 8ft interface gate, which is closed from 7.45pm each night,as well as a wall of about the same height. Now the householder said those considering tearing down interface barriers simply do not understand how dangerous life can be there.

The News Letter is using only his Christian name.

Steven,27 had returned from work at about 11.15pm to find flames outside his home in Kells Avenue. He said: ''It was definitely from the other side - they definitely came over the wall. Its never been petrol bombed. Its usually stones. He has Catholic friends,he said, and his elder son is going to an inter-faith school. But missiles are thrown at the house almost nightly he said.

Asked what he thought of the plan to remove peace lines. he said: ''No chance! Whoever wants to get rid of them wants to come and live in this house. ''There's no way I'll be living here if they go.

His girlfriend believes there were up to four bombs, and that two did not ignite.

DUP Alderman Ruth Patterson branded it ''a totally unprovoked attack on an innocent family''

Then Steven is a silly man, they are trying to burn him out of his house, yet he's sending his kids to be mixed in with them. His son will probably end up playing GAA and like his father running around with Roman Catholics. Absolutely bizarre situation.

Some people never learn. Maybe he had been trying to be nice and curry favour with them in the hope he would be left alone.

The shinners  said in one of their publications that partition was to blame for having Protestants and Catholics fighting each other (ignoring the fact hat since 1641 they have been murdering Protestants). Now I'm sure there would be those Protestants who would swallow what the shinners said and in an effort to show that they weren't one of these 'bad' fighting  Prods would do a bit of grovelling.

The fella mentioned seems to be in that category. But one thing about him. He put it up to Robinson and others who go on about bringing the walls down..''come and live here''  Over to you Mr Robinson. Though if Robinson did take him up on it he would probably have a word with his mate Marty first and get the OK that he would be left alone.
