Big 'let-down' for me this time round. It has changed its whole tone and message. The storyline has been altered and more emphasis put on an Irish identity. The theme song from the show has been butchered, and the words...''you've taken our land,we've died at your hands, you've taken our homes away. But while we still live our spirit willl give the strength for the fight to stay'' have been omitted.
Other things which I can't remember from the original show (though they might have been in it). There was a few anti-English remarks and at least one anti-British remark. The whole tenor had changed. The 'Our Father' was said. Not the 'Lords Prayer'
Peter Corry was a Minister in the original.leading his congregation to the New World. But not this time. Some of the roles had been changed. Some songs left out,and other ones brought in.
This in a way is not suprising,as it due to be shown in Dublin. The blurb and the words spoken at the end perhaps sums it up, and Ulster doesn't get a look-in.
